Save files as pdf, not as jpeg - and own Filename?

Hello, I have the following questions:

Is it possible to save the scanned documents directly as a searchable PDF?
So far the files are saved as png.

  1. is it possible to change the file names? The file names are paper1, paper2 etc… If you want to open the files directly from the hard disk, it is not possible to find hundreds of files. This would be possible with a speaking file name.
    I am using openpaper with LMDE6.
