Using NetworkScanner

Hi,

I’m using an Epson XP-7100-Scanner which is connected by LAN to my linux-system, and it works well with sane.

Unfortunally I can’t find it in the flatpak-installation of paperwork. Is there a way to use it also with paperwork as I use it normaly without connecting directly to the pc?

Hello,

Flatpak applications run in an isolated container. You must enable Saned on your computer so Paperwork can access your scanner. Have you followed the instructions to enable Saned ?

Best regards,

Hi,

do I need sane.d on the host-pc of paperwork? I think, it’s only needed to offer the scanner into the LAN, and my scanner is reachabe over lan

christoph@christoph-desktop:~$ scanimage -L device `net:192.168.1.144:imagescan:esci:usb:/sys/devices/platform/scb/fd500000.pcie/pci0000:00/0000:00:00.0/0000:01:00.0/usb1/1-1/1-1.3/1-1.3:1.0' is a EPSON XP-7100_Series device `imagescan:esci:networkscan://192.168.1.121:1865' is a EPSON device `airscan:e0:EPSON XP-7100' is a eSCL EPSON XP-7100 ip=192.168.1.121

The .144 is a raspi4 with raspios10 offering scanner-services, .121:1865 the epson-driver and .121 without any port is the sane-airscan

I can use all variants with the host, but nothing is usable inside paperwork

Hello,

Yes, you still have to enable Saned.
The Libsane inside the Flatpak container of Paperwork has been configured to connect only to 127.0.0.1.

Best regards,

Hi,
would it be possible to scan with every network-connected scanner in future? I think that makes it easier to use paperwork on every place at home or office - also places which are not near to the scanner
